Founded as Precious Gems Jewelry.
Noor-e-din began his journey in the South African jewelry trade as a young apprentice, and in the early 1980s founded Precious Gems Jewelry. Karim joined him in the business soon after, and in 1984 graduated from the Gemological Institute of America as a Graduate Gemologist. From those two complementary disciplines - the hand and the eye - KHOJA Fine Jewelry was built.
Two brothers. Two ateliers. One family.
Both meet clients face to face. Both design. Both manufacture in-house. The work passes between Calgary and Johannesburg as freely as it passes between brothers.
Noor-e-din Khoja
Noor-e-din began in the South African jewelry trade as a young apprentice and, in the early 1980s, founded Precious Gems Jewelry - the house that would become KHOJA. A designer and Master Goldsmith, he leads our Johannesburg atelier and oversees in-house manufacturing in 18K Gold, Platinum, and 925 Silver. He meets clients personally, designs alongside them, and finishes pieces by hand.
Karim Khoja
Karim graduated from the Gemological Institute of America as a Graduate Gemologist in 1984 and has built a global reputation for sourcing and grading diamonds. He leads our Calgary atelier - meeting clients personally, designing alongside Noor-e-din, and overseeing in-house manufacturing on Canadian soil. He personally vets every stone that bears the KHOJA name.

Beyond the founders, we work only with hand-picked master designers, goldsmiths and diamond setters in both ateliers. Each is chosen for a specific specialty - micro-pav茅, channel setting, hand-engraving, lost-wax casting - and every piece passes through the right hands for its design.

Why we still do this by hand.
We grew up in a workshop. The smell of polishing compound, the sound of a hammer on a doming block, the quiet of a setter under a microscope - this is the world our father showed us, and the world we have spent our lives in.
Fine jewelry, to us, is never about the object alone. It is about the moment it marks. The proposal. The anniversary. The piece a daughter will wear long after her mother is gone. We have made rings for clients who came back twenty years later for their child's engagement. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
Everything we make is made by us - designed in our studios, manufactured in our ateliers, finished by hands we know personally. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is mass produced. Every stone is one we have looked at ourselves.
